1- At first I supported a bailout of the auto industry. There are just too many jobs tied to the sector to let it fail. I have since changed my stance however. There are two main reasons for the failure of Ford, GM, and Chrysler. The first is the bad management decisions to ignore high fuel mileage cars. Had they focused on this segment, they would not be doing as bad as they are now. So blame management first. Second is the auto unions. If these companies cannot compete with foreign auto makers in the cost to assemble a car, than they will always be at a disadvantage before the cars are even made. Unions are not a bad thing but their goal is to get as much as possible, not to balance things out and simply keep them fair. They have the best intentions with the worst execution.
2- The Fairness Doctrine. I cannot say it enough, this is the worst idea ever. Now I have tried listening the Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity and even that idiot Schnitt. I disagree with all three almost 80% of the time. But at the same time they have their audience. If they are successful than I am happy for them. If there is no fan base for liberal talk radio than so be it. Do not try and force shows people don’t want to listen to. The Fairness Doctrine is the complete opposite democracy.
3- Do not take the Secratary of State post Hillary. I can agree that you would be perfect for it however we have a bigger need for you and that is the position of Senate Majority Leader. This role would let you guide this country and shape its policies like no one else except the President himself. I have given up on Harry Reid a long time ago. He seems like a nice guy but there is just no more confidence in him to lead the chamber. So once again, please please please HIllary do not take the Secretary of State position. We need you as our Senate Majority Leader!!

For all the talk of “Bradley Effect” and this new thing conservatives are trying to push called “The Readiness Effect” (Obama supporters will vote for McCain once their in the voting booth because of Obama’s inexperience), I am throwing another “Effect” into the mix. It’s called the “Dubya effect”. Now I supported McCain at the start of the general election. For various reasons I have decided to throw my support behind Obama. I am going to be the first to claim the “Dubya effect” will elect Obama. I am betting that McCain supporters will be marching to the voting booths supremely confidant on election day. They know who they want. Except, when they get in that voting booth by themselves with no eyes or ears following them, they will be reluctant to push that button, punch that hole, or tap the part of the screen that says Republican. That’s because even die hard Republicans know that McCain will be a continuation of failed policies. Maybe in a middle of the road economy, you could get away with electing more of the same. But with erosion of privacy, crash of the stock market, destruction of the housing market, our diminished international standing, and the millions of other things Bush has done to this country, electing more of the same is just not an option. You heard it here first folks, the “Dubya effect”.

Great article on how the Bush administration has implemented policies they despise themselves.
Also, the poll results are out concerning Obama’s choice to pass over Hillary for his veep. 63% say it was a mistake. 25% said it was not a mistake and 13% want everyone to stop crying about it. Please take a minute to vote in the new poll.

What is going on with the Obama campaign. What was once regarded as a well run and disciplined campaign has been lackluster at best the past two weeks. Instead of tying McCain to Bush, Obama has been trying to defend his record against Palin. I’m going to help out Obama by producing a couple of my own ads he should think about using.
